it's been a LONG while since i last posted...

What a busy time we've had....since our last post we have had many visits to the doctor, where as of now we still don't know really what is causing her cough, maybe allergies or bronchitis...hopefully we will find out as soon as her labwork comes back. Yes, LABWORK!! We had to take her in for blood tests, three times..they can only take so much from babys at one time. So the first time we take her and the lady gets a little out of one arm, and then it stops, so they call another guy in and he is able to get all they need, while Maile is trying to jump and wriggle from my arms. After they are done daddy holds her and she is happy, still a little upset, but happy its over. Fast forward a few days, we go back for round 2, and this time we request the guy who did such a great job last time. They say "oh the other guy loves babies and he'll be great..." NOPE!!! it was worse than the last time, daddy held her this time and he thought he was gonna rip her arm off, or that he'd bruised her and it was the worst experience of my life, and he wasn't going to do it again, the guy couldn't find it and he bruised her arm pretty bad. So the lady who checked us in tells us "next time we'll make sure you get chad..." chad being the guy who did so well llthe last time. fast forward some more, we go in for the final time, we get chad and it goes pretty painlessly and finally, hopefully we'll figure out whats causing her cough.

I think it might be allergies, since after we do breathing treatments for a while she gets better, then we'll go somewhere with lots of dust or hairy dogs or outside with lots of allergens floating around and her cough gets worse!! Hopefully we'll have an answer soon!

Maile's 1st and 2nd sick baby visits:(

So...now that Maile is in daycare, she is getting all the common stuff kids get.

We went to visit the room on a tuesday, and wednesday she had her 12 month well baby check, and dr garcia says " I love to see charts like this...well baby, well baby, all well baby checks!" I then said " well she's starting daycare tommorrow.." and she said "well there went that! I knew I just jinxed us!" and sure enough..that night Maile starts with a runny nose, which I thought was because of the shots...nope!

Mailes first two days were horrible for everyone! She was so sick....friday her teacher Ms. Susie says I think she has Croup..over a day and a half she had developed a seal like cough, so I call her dr's office and they thank goodness are open for patients till 8pm and open on Saturdays at one of their locations, So they make her an appointment for Sat in the morning. The nurse practioner says yes she had croup, we'll give her a shot and a prescription for a steroid and a preventive medicine for allergies and asthma (singulair-which she gets with applesauce)..within a hour Maile is better...somewhat. They said the cough would/could last awhile.

Ok all is good now right? Nope, Maile is good for a day...Monday her teacher tells me she's been crying all day, and she thought maybe something was hurting her, she seemed like she might have some pain.....I had to go watch a movie so I could get my Healthcard, and maile went to Aunty Stacy's house, where she usually LOVES to be. This time she only wanted aunty stacy, and was really tired and just NOT herself. I thought she was just tired since she didn't sleep at daycare. Cut to 3 o'clock in the morning....maile is crying and BURNING up!!! yet she's shivering too...i give her some motrin (which is really the only thing that works, tylenol does not) and we get more sleep. Then she's up almost every hour, not getting a bit of restful sleep. I call the dr and they get her in that morning, after me showing up to work (for my 4th day mind you) and telling them she's sick and I can't come in...then I go and Dr Garcia(and all the nurses) are suprised to see her again, and she says shes got an ear infection and she'll need antibiotics.

You can tell the medicine works, she laughs a little and her eyes clear and shes better for about 11 hours, then its almost time for more meds. So wish us well, that we'll be able to get through this first bit of sicknesses.

I got a JOB!!

So I've rejoined the working class!!

I have started at a daycare where Maile can attend as well.

I never thought it would be this HARD! Maile is in a room on the other side of the building, and it almost kills me to know shes in the building, yet I can't be there to see her and hold her and help her make friends....it probably hurts me more than it does her.

Maile's 1st birthday part 2

Maile's 1st birthday-part 2...Tutu threw Maile a party at Peter Piper Pizza, she got us pizza and cupcakes too! Again Maile loved them...can't you tell. Luckily they were mini cupcakes, but Maile still got it into BOTH of her hands. That was fun, trying to get all the icing off of her. But Maile loved it and thats all that mattered.

We bought a few tokens and Maile got to ride in the Clifford the Big Red Dog ride, it was the only thing she was able to do there. Seth and I played Ski ball, and a round of basketball, I beat him all of the times we played! Even at Basketball!!! I got on a roll and made 20 baskets!! Seth only made 19...hehe! And he didn't even let me cheat or try to let me win. He was really upset that I beat him. It was pretty exciting for me though!

Maile's 1st Birthday-Part 1

We are having multiple parties for Maile's 1st birthday...the first was last sunday the 24th of August, at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, with our friends. There is a activity pool outside and you can have a Cool Pool Party.

There were about 20 of us there and we ate pizza, strawberries and grapes, along with CUPCAKES!!

Maile loved hers, as you can tell. The cake got EVERYWHERE! But thats what 1st birthdays are for right?

We are having a Family Birthday party on Maile's actual birthday, the 31st. And we had a party with her Tutu , Uncle Tyler and Auntie Cori at Peter Piper Pizza too. What a lucky girl to have THREE parties!

Our 4 year wedding aniversary...

August 22nd 2008, our fourth wedding anniversary. We went out for dinner and a movie, just the two of us, thanks to Aunty Stacy and family for taking Maile along with them.

We first went to The Elephant Bar, at The District, next to Green Valley Ranch. Then we walked over to the movie theater in Green Valley Ranch Casino, and watched Tropic Thunder.

I DEFINATELY recommend this movie!!! I laughed the ENTIRE time, and I don't think it was just because we were able to watch a movie in the theater. (by the way the weekend before I saw Step Brothers, and that was pretty funny too.)

What a great time we had, dinner and a movie, we couldn't have been happier!

Thanks for the comments!

Thank you to those who have commented...keep'em coming!

It's nice to know that someone reads this and knows that my family is pretty good lookings....hehehe.

Family Reunion!

This is MOST of the William Aina Ohana.......most beacause we were missing 4 grandchildren : Melanie, Billy, Nick and Dan......and 3 Great Grandchildren...Malina, Malya and Marlee.

Yet...in the second picture, somehow we gained another child...the little girl in the pink. I don't know her name, but I know she is one of my grandpa's sister Nani's clan. (a Villaverde)

She liked Maile and was playing with her when we first got there, and as soon as Maile was out of the stroller...she took off with it and was having a race with someone else and another "borrowed" stroller. She was adorable and Maile was cracking up at her during dinner. I think we took like 6 pictures with her ( the little girl in pink) before anyone noticed and i don't know if we got one without her in it. But she is part of the family now!!!! I am waiting for the ENTIRE family picture, there were people from as far away as Texas and Canada at the reunion. I think they said.....there were over a 1oo people there? not too sure, all i know was there was a lot of people....and too many to compete with for our auction!!! I missed out on a few great items, but did make out with 4 sets of hairbows for Maile, a CUTE brown and teal blanket and some Aina Ohana Pens!!! (if you know me you know the obsession I have with pens!!!!)

The other picture is our family in our matching Billy's Bratz

Some pics from our trip to hawaii!

So adding more than one pic at a time is not gonna work for my computer!!!
I tried at least 4, didn't work, so you get this ONE!!!!!
We went to the Honolulu Zoo, and stopped for a break in a shady area with a playground, no Maile is not walking, so she sat in our laps and watched the kids playing.
They are on the other side of the camera, that's why she's not looking at the camera, she's watching them and what they were doing.

Aina Family Reuinon..part one

Well we've been back for about a week now, and we are finallly almost caught back up on our sleep.

Sunday July 13th we flew from Las Vegas to Honolulu. Our flight landed around 5 AM! We got our rental car and drove to Ewa Beach, had a homemade breakfast with Uncle Randy and his family. Afterwards we drove to the Swapmeet with Nick and Charlotte, had a coconut, milk and all, then drove and went to Manuhealii, which is one of my favorite stores, they sell hawaiian clothing. (maile and I now have 2 matching outfits from this store), then we took Nick and Charlotte home, then we went to Haleiwa and ate at Rosie's, nothing too spectacular there. After that we drove through Millilani and then went back to Uncle Randy's house. Uncle Randy grilled steaks and chicken and it was VERY good. No pictures from this day...forgot to even take the camera out of the bag.

Monday we woke up went to Zippy's. Seth had a Loco Moco (DELICIOUS!!!), I had the sweet bread french toast, grandpa had portegeuse sausage (with eggs and rice....his normal breakfast, minus the bacon and add the sausage.) Maile shared ours. Oh and did I mention we also got Fried Saimin Noodles?????? yeah we ate it ALL up! After that we drove back to downtown and drove all around. We went to Pacific Heights, saw Great Grandma's house, not the same look anymore, found a flower shop and picked up two leis for Grandpa to take to Grandma Aina's grave site up at Punchbowl. Drove up the mountain to Punchbowl found the site under the big tree, surrounded by all men, and let grandpa have some time alone. It is such a peaceful place. After that we drove to Pearlridge area and ate at Anna Millers, eating again, yes, but we're on vacation right? After this we went back home and took a NAP! Then we went to Barbers Point, and looked at the Ocean, that's right looked. It was starting to drizzle and we were way to pooped to actually get in the water, but atleast we went right? That night we had spaghetti and meatballs and hung out in the backyard. I set out a blanket I had brought and oddly Maile would not crawl off the blanket. She would get to the edge...and then turn back around again. She wouldn't crawl on the grass.

Tuesday we went to Ala Moana to have our family pictures taken. We went to Expressions and they have all these clothes and matching stuff, along with accessories to match and complete the picture. They also can do your hair and make up. So I got it all done. We thought that two of them turned out good enough. They also will put the pics you buy on a cd and give you the rights to reproduce them, so of course we did that and now if anyone wants a copy i'll send you one. that took up pretty much the whole day. we went to Pearlridge and window shopped, then we went to dinner at Sizzler for my cousin Nicks birthday. Sizzler in Hawaii is soooooooo much better than here in Vegas. I shared strawberries and cream with Maile and she loved them!!!!! she would keep turning to me with her mouth open for more.

Wednesday we went to the Honolulu Zoo. We had a great time looking at all the animals and looking for them too. In some of the exhibits they weren't visible, and then we saw the signs that told us not to look too hard, that they had been removed for a time for this reason or that. Got some good pictures though. Then we went to Ala Moana again to pick up our pictures, drove home, got Grandpa went to dinner with Uncle Randy and packed up to go to Kona the next day.

Ok...i'll stop boring you for now, and I'll post more later.

We have TEETH!

So, Maile's bottom two front teeth have finally broke the surface. And they are getting bigger everyday. Her favorite things to eat now are anything that we eat! She has eaten spaghetti, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, pieces of chicken tenders and hamburgers. She loves to eat whatever we are eating...so we try as much as we can. Making mommys meals cold by the time I am able to eat. But hopefully we can introduce her to many new tastes, so she will like all foods.

I will keep trying to get a picture of the teeth, have been unsuccessful so far.

It's HOT!!!!!!! Let's go swimming!!

Maile LOVES to swim. Aunt Stacy got her the lady bug floaty thing. And it is great to put Maile in and let her float around, so she's not drinking all the pool water....she likes to do that too. But she really likes it when you hold her in her arms and twirl her around and let her float her body. I just love her bathing suits I got for her and the little hat she wears. I am so glad she likes the water, so while we are dog sitting for Aunty Stacy, we went swimming with Makayla and Tatum.

Happy Fathers Day!

Yesterday was Seth's first official Fathers day. We spent the day with all the fathers in our life, We went to his brothers house, their dad came over and we had some GOOD food. Maile and Daddy went swimming and had a good time. We left there and went to Dave's Famous BBQ. We met my Grandpa and Uncle Randy for some good pulled pork and Texas Beef Brisket and Grandpa had the Ribs too! Goood foood!!!!
The picture of Maile and I alone was taken this morning. We were on our way to Walmart, and I thought I would try and ket a picture of us together. I thought it was a good one of her and not too bad of me, so I put it up. I had decided to curl my hair and thought I would see how it looked. I can't wait for Maile's har to grow! I have some bows that will work, but it holds onto this one little patch of hair, I've tried putting it in a ponhytail and she kinda looks like Pebbles from the Flinstones. Still cute, but a pain in the booty to take out, even though they are the "ouchless" kind.

Maile is Crawling now!

So a few nights ago Maile was playing on the floor, and I was checking my email and I saw her on all fours and kinda rocking, then I saw one knee go forward, then the next and again and again! She was crawling! Very slowly, yet still crawling! I am so excited, yet scared at the same time. She has since done it a few times, but she's a smart girl, when she gets tired she cries to be picked up, she'll cry and then look up at you and cry again, or she'll stick her arms up and cry to you. I'll have to post pictures soon!

Maile can sit up on her own now!

So Maile still crawls backwards...but she is now able to push her self up to a sitting position! I can't believe she is getting this big! We visited with my cousin Tricia this weekend, we met up with her at the Fashion Show Mall on the vegas strip. Maile was a little shy, but she'll be seeing TT again this weekend when she graduates this weekend! We leave tommorrow and won't be back till late Saturday. Hopefully we'll have good pics to post next time!

Maile at 8 1/2 months!!

We took Maile to have her pictures taken by Ladonna. They both did such a good job. Maile was having a great time and Ladonna was her own Paparazi. If you look closely to Maile's toes you'll see that they are painted!!! She was asleep when I was painting my toes....so I did her's too! I can't believe how big she is getting, 8 short months ago she was a little blob, now she has sooooo much personality. She is starting to wave her hands, sometimes at the appropriate "Bye Bye Papa", She loves to feed herself ! ( she likes to eat the Gerber Puffs, Banana, Strawberry-Banana and Apple Cinnamon) Maile loves to eat OUR food and definately knows the difference between hers and ours. Maile loves kids! She loves to follow her cousins, with her eyes only now, but knows how to get their attention by yelling. I think that she is probably the loudest baby I have ever heard. But we still love her!

Next week we are off to San Diego for my cousin Tricia's graduation from San Diego State. It will be nice to see our family from Kauai!

What a difference a year makes!!!

Such a different day from last year.....Last year was not a pleasant Mother's Day for my family. I was 5 1/2 months pregant..and my mom had passed away. Living in Indiana it was very had on me, not being here with her, flying in from out of town, having all these hormones running through my veings as it is, add such a stressful day as this. We had gone to the Funeral Home for a private family viewing and driving up there were people passing out Mother's Day Poems..........which I took and had to put away imediately upon viewing...it was too much to take that day. Fast Forward to 2008........ We are now living back in Las Vegas. It's my first Mother's Day.....and we go to church for the first time as a Family. It was GREAT! It was so calming for me, and all the women over the age of 18 recieved a nice gift (anti bacterial lotion to keep our hands soft and clean). After church we changed clothes and went to Seth's step mom Suzi's house. Maile had a great time! She put her feet in a pool for the first time! She loved it! Maile also loved the cupcakes we brought for Suzi! Then we went to Uncle Trent and Aunty Stacy's house. Where Maile ended up in ANOTHER pool! I totally forgot that I had her bathing suit in my car....thanks to Tay tay and makayla for handing it down to her!........so we put her little suit on and in she went! Kahla and Ean were great with her. Pictures will follow. After they were dried off and changed we went to dinner at Memphis Barbecue.....I had the best Pork Chop EVER! it was grilled and was so moist and tender, like eating a steak. Seth had a brisket....that too was delicious! For being a mother we (stacy and I) got FREE strawberry shortcakes! They weren't so hot though! We let Trent and Seth have them.....Happy Father's Day!!! ha ha........So my mothers day ends with me blogging...what a beautiful day!

The pictures above are both old....the one on top was taken while we were in town for the funeral and the bottom was from feb 2008. I need to upload more pictures to my computer...it just takes more energy than I have right now. :)

Maile meets the Easter Bunny!

Maile met the Easter Bunny at the Galleria Mall in Henderson, NV.
She started to laugh at me as I was walking away....hence her looking off to the side.

Our First Easter with Maile. We went to Breakfast at the Fiesta Henderson Buffet. Grandpa Aina went with us and we met Trent, Stacy, Ean and Kahla there. After Breakfast we went to Lake Las Vegas jfor their annual Easter Egg Hunt...next year Maile will be able to participate and get her own eggs. Ean and Kahla were nice to share a few with her.

After the hunt we took some pictures with the family then headed home. It was already a bright sunny and almost HOT day & it was only 11 am.

Sunday, April 13, 2008

Seth and I watched a UFC fight with Charmaine and her friends and family, we helped to support BEATDOWN, her brothers company. We had a great time watching the fight and getting out of the house, actually doing something. Seth's brother Trent came with us. (See him in the background? Ha!)

Since Maile was born we can probably count on one hand the amount of times we've been out by ourselves. A christmas party x2, Mystere (thanks Trent and Stacy), Blue Man Group (Thanks Charmaine) and this event.

Good Bye GG!

Seth's grandmother passed away March 15, 2008. She was a wonderful woman who obviously cared about her family. She will be greatly missed.

I am so glad that she was able to teach me a few of her recipes. Green Beans and potatoes being one of my favorites. I am so grateful that she was able to hold Maile, and that I was able to take pictures of them together so that Maile will be able to know her Great Grandmother.

This picture was from Thanksgiving 2007.

This is my one of my absolute FAVORITE pics of Maile!!!

This was taken around Valentines Day.......just a little behind in blogs....SORRY!!

Maile is keeping me busy! She is starting to crawl....backwards!!!!!!! We try to get her to come towards us and she rocks herself, then pushes herself back with her hands. Hopefully she'll get it soon...actually I hope she dosen't!!! Just kidding.

It is soooooo great to see her actually learning and getting bigger. I can't wait till her next dr's appt, I can't wait to see how long she's gotten and what her actual weight is now. She is taken 7 oz of formula at a time and 2nd 's baby food 2-3 times a day.

She's REALLY turning over now!!

We are in HAWAII!! Maile is loving the weather and the new faces to look at. We are staying with the Aina's for now, My Uncle Randy, Aunty Cathy and cousins Nick and Charlotte. Nick was talking with Maile as she was laying on a blanket on the ground...trying to get her to turn over towards him...no such luck. The next day he was at the hospital (getting closer to his degree in nursing...) and she rolled over!!! She was again on the blanket and I was sitting next to her reading a news paper article..and I heard her "talking" to her self and it sounded a little different..maybe a little higher? (closer to me, I guess) and moved the newspaper out of the way and there she was on her belly! Now she just keeps doing it. She just gets that momentum going and turns herself over and acts as though she's on top of the world...so excited to be on her belly!

A couple of weeks ago she started on baby foods! We went to her 4 month appt and in addition to her vaccinations the dr gave us the go ahead for solid foods!! So we went right out and got the spoons, bowls and the food! She started with Green Beans for three days, then Peas for three days and so on. Some of her favorites were Peas, Squash and Bananas. Not so favorites were Peaches! Maybe they were too tart for her. With every new flavor she makes this funky face as though she dosen't like it..but with each next bite she begins to relax and likes it more.

More pictures will follow...as soon as I remember to take my camera out and take them. It's been soooooooo nice here that I haven't really wanted to do anything but relax and take in the great breeze!
