Well we've been back for about a week now, and we are finallly almost caught back up on our sleep.
Sunday July 13th we flew from Las Vegas to Honolulu. Our flight landed around 5 AM! We got our rental car and drove to Ewa Beach, had a homemade breakfast with Uncle Randy and his family. Afterwards we drove to the Swapmeet with Nick and Charlotte, had a coconut, milk and all, then drove and went to Manuhealii, which is one of my favorite stores, they sell hawaiian clothing. (maile and I now have 2 matching outfits from this store), then we took Nick and Charlotte home, then we went to Haleiwa and ate at Rosie's, nothing too spectacular there. After that we drove through Millilani and then went back to Uncle Randy's house. Uncle Randy grilled steaks and chicken and it was VERY good. No pictures from this day...forgot to even take the camera out of the bag.
Monday we woke up went to Zippy's. Seth had a Loco Moco (DELICIOUS!!!), I had the sweet bread french toast, grandpa had portegeuse sausage (with eggs and rice....his normal breakfast, minus the bacon and add the sausage.) Maile shared ours. Oh and did I mention we also got Fried Saimin Noodles?????? yeah we ate it ALL up! After that we drove back to downtown and drove all around. We went to Pacific Heights, saw Great Grandma's house, not the same look anymore, found a flower shop and picked up two leis for Grandpa to take to Grandma Aina's grave site up at Punchbowl. Drove up the mountain to Punchbowl found the site under the big tree, surrounded by all men, and let grandpa have some time alone. It is such a peaceful place. After that we drove to Pearlridge area and ate at Anna Millers, eating again, yes, but we're on vacation right? After this we went back home and took a NAP! Then we went to Barbers Point, and looked at the Ocean, that's right looked. It was starting to drizzle and we were way to pooped to actually get in the water, but atleast we went right? That night we had spaghetti and meatballs and hung out in the backyard. I set out a blanket I had brought and oddly Maile would not crawl off the blanket. She would get to the edge...and then turn back around again. She wouldn't crawl on the grass.
Tuesday we went to Ala Moana to have our family pictures taken. We went to Expressions and they have all these clothes and matching stuff, along with accessories to match and complete the picture. They also can do your hair and make up. So I got it all done. We thought that two of them turned out good enough. They also will put the pics you buy on a cd and give you the rights to reproduce them, so of course we did that and now if anyone wants a copy i'll send you one. that took up pretty much the whole day. we went to Pearlridge and window shopped, then we went to dinner at Sizzler for my cousin Nicks birthday. Sizzler in Hawaii is soooooooo much better than here in Vegas. I shared strawberries and cream with Maile and she loved them!!!!! she would keep turning to me with her mouth open for more.
Wednesday we went to the Honolulu Zoo. We had a great time looking at all the animals and looking for them too. In some of the exhibits they weren't visible, and then we saw the signs that told us not to look too hard, that they had been removed for a time for this reason or that. Got some good pictures though. Then we went to Ala Moana again to pick up our pictures, drove home, got Grandpa went to dinner with Uncle Randy and packed up to go to Kona the next day.
Ok...i'll stop boring you for now, and I'll post more later.
